The night before my New Year...
Oh man. It's New Years Eve - the end of 2012. I had an amazing year, and I am more than excited to launch into 2013. This year is going to be a big one for me, as I have some rather, ahem....lofty goals.
Goal one: I am going to eat clean for an entire year. (Holy shit. I just said that out loud.)
That's it. I think that's a big enough goal.
I spent some time with the beautiful Danielle LaPorte's Desire Map and I am going to focus on feeling(s) this year. I am going to honor my desires, and create a life based on how I want to feel. I have chosen a few key feeling words (right now, I'm holding them close to my heart, but I'll share more on this later in the year...) however, right now I will tell you that the theme of my year is Radical Self Care.
This means taking great care of myself (this is the radical part), learning to rest, remembering to honor my passions, learning to turn things off in order to turn things on, creating space for divine creativity, and feeding my body AND my soul what it needs. I am going to read great books and social essays. I am going to paint. I am going to take long, luxurious baths, I am going to fly my freak flag a bit more. I am going to love deeply and passionately. I am going to honor my feelings and not cover them up. I am going to spend time with people who "get it" and love me. (Thank you to the beautiful and talented Theresa Reed for helping me remember these goals!)
I just reread the digest of my first Whole30, and I'm so excited to start tomorrow. I have planned an AMAZING yoga class for the first day of the year at Dragonfly, and will spend the first day of the new year with great friends watching my alma mater play some football.
